Track Days
Many GBMCC members are track day enthusiasts and attend the British GP's and Superbike
races. The more adventurous members participate in the many track days offered
by various organisers and the California Superbike School. The track days are
by no means only for the experienced rider, they are for all riding levels and
are designed to improve and extend your skills in a safe environment. Owning a
'fast' bike is not necessary as many track day organisers hire bikes and it has
been known for riders to be humbled by BMW's, vintage Moto Guzzis and Buells!
The only real warning is track days tend to be addictive. Want to try one for
yourself? Please click on the following links;
Track Day Schools.
There are two schools that are regularly attended by GBMCC members: the California
Superbike School (CSS) and the Motorad 'Nurburgring Perfektionstraining Skool'.
The CSS has four levels of instruction and each level costs approximately £300.
Many members have done one or more levels and some members have completed all
four! Although expensive, the courses are excellent and are aimed at improving
your cornering abilities and visual skills. Members post which levels they are
attending in the diary and other members are encouraged to join them.
The Motorrad School
takes place at the Nurburgring in Germany over two and a half days and teaches
students the delights of riding the legendary 21km Nordschliefe. Over the last
three years a few adventurous members make the pilgrimage and any member is welcome
to join.
Track Days
Through the Summer various GBMCC members participate in motorcycle
track days at Cadwell Park, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Pembrey and Rockingham.
Some have even gone so far as Spain and France! Last year saw the first GBMCC
organised Track Day at Anglesey with over twenty gay bikers taking over the Welsh
track. As with the schools, the track days members are attending are posted in
the diary so we can show a gay presence! |
